This is the poem I found in a box on what would of been my Dad's birthday. It was in the Daily Mail
newspaper dated Friday 17th June 2005 and the author is shown as Julie Willis, Poole, Dorset.
First Love
xxxxxxxx
Can you spare a moment, dear
While I explain to you
How I can love another man
And still be true to you?
When I met my first love
I was very, very small,
About such things as loving
I did not know at all.
Sometime near my birth it was
He first looked at me,
It was then I had my first kiss,
It came so naturally.
How I felt at this endearment
I can't remember now,
I only know that to this man
I did my heart endow.
So when you later came along
And vowed you would be true,
I still went on loving him
As well as loving you.
I can be true to two men,
It's not so very bad,
When one is you, my husband,
The other is my Dad.
I know that you will understand ,
We have a daughter , too,
One day she'll meet another man
But won't stop loving you.
She won't forget her first love
And even if you part,
There'll be a special place for you
Forever in her heart.
See you soon .xxx
What wonderful words. Really touched my heart and no doubt touched yours even more. Hugs! xx
